About the Founder - Michael Botha

Michael has more than 15 years clinical experience as a biokineticist, dealing with any physical weakness or injury imaginable successfully along the way.

Michael has a passion for seeing people thrive and moving forwards in spite of their external circumstances, and believes that with the right support and a proper plan, anyone can achieve anything they set their heart to.

Michael has played provincial cricket as an all-rounder, and has had a golf handicap of 1 in the past. He has also completed a few half-marathons.

Michael has had almost every injury himself, which greatly assists in compassion and know-how during the rehabilitation journey. He has bounced back from knee surgery (2002), shoulder surgery (2006), chronic lower back pain and temporary paralysis of the right leg after surviving a home invasion and being shot twice - once in the right rip, and once in the right shoulder (2017). After the 2017 incident, Michael started running and completed a couple of half-marathons, after specialists doubted if he'd ever regain normal function of his right leg.

The exercises in Aktief Online's 12-week plans are what he did consistently for years, enabling performance above and beyond what specialists thought possible.
